Let me tell you about my friend Hank.
Hank was married to the love of his life, Darlene.
Their marriage was one of those "dream" marriages.
He honestly thought that they would live with each other until they passed on together.
That’s what he hoped.
Until they got the news..
Sadly, Darlene had stage 4 cancer that was determined terminal and was only given a year to live.
Hank’s entire life was flipped upside down within a second.
With new financial and at-home care responsibilities now with his wife, it crushed him.
But worst of all…
He knew he’d lose his best friend.
One of the things he'd miss most was the way she could calm a storm simply by playing the piano.
Heartbreakingly, she ended up passing in 2023.
Obviously, life couldn’t go on the same way…
Hank still wanted Darlene in his life constantly, every day, not a second missed.
He wanted to honor her.
So what did he do?
He decided to learn the piano…
"Maybe it'll keep her close," he would think to himself.
Something that would make it feel like she was still there..
So, he did some digging and found us.
He’s started to learn the piano with other people over 60.
And ever since then…
She's been close.
We all have our own story on why we want to keep improving and developing our own skillsets.
Does it have to be as meaningful a reason as that? Of course not.

Hi, I’m Caleb, the Founder of Helperly Connect.
I’m a husband, father, son, and grandson.
I come from a massive family.
My mom is one of 10 and my dad is one of 9.
This means that both sets of my grandparents have over 130 kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
Throughout 2020 (in the midst of Covid) I ignorantly thought that everyone over 60 had a huge support system.
I thought that everybody had access to be able to learn new things and connect with others.
I recognized that most people just don't have that.
Whether it’s because you don’t have close access to a trained instructor...
Don’t know where to go to master that particular skill that's been on your mind...
Or would rather stay in the comfort of your own home...
I decided I wanted to lend a hand.
